Born in Frankfurt and schooled in Munich, Julia creates formally sophisticated jewelry that takes inspiration from the geometric shapes of Bauhaus art and architecture. Sensuous on the body and perfectly proportioned, the meticulous craftsmanship of these works emphasizes the cleverly engineered interlocking or moving elements. Subtle transitions between each of the forms lend a sculptural quality at a smaller scale. Groos hand fabricates and/or casts her work in a wide range of materials including: sterling silver, gold, precious and semiprecious stones, plastics and even exotic leathers. Together with her clean lines these textures create a complete range of styles from a classic elegance to a bold, young confidence. Julia Groos also custom designs one-of-a-kind jewelry for clients.
